Election Issues 2010

Seth at legislatureThe issues that apply to District 45:
Carson will support the following issues if re-elected to the State House:

  1. Funding for large Wind Power energy development and infrastructure.
  2. Additional Funding for the City of Laramie
  3. Support the Creation and Implementation of a State Wide Energy Plan
  4. Increased Funding for Wildlife and Habitat Protection
  5. Funding for State Wide Health Care Program
  6. Support of the University of Wyoming
  7. Additional funding for the Wyoming Business Council grant programs

Q & A with Carson on the Issues:

What should the legislature do to help diversify the economy? Clearly, the state needs to continue assisting the private sector financially with economic development funds and incentives, and provide communities with additional funding for business parks and beautification projects. Specifically, efforts should be directed at fostering innovative technology-based businesses and renewable energy businesses.

  • To improve access and affordability of health care? Carson believes that health care is a human right, not a benefit. The state needs to look at assisting Wyoming based business and citizens with a state wide health care program that is not a mandate. Now that there has been funding increases in education, salaries, and infrastructure, it seems like the right time to have a “healthy” health care system in our state.
  • What to do about the meth problem. Simply put, more time and effort needs to be dedicated towards meth awareness. Young people need to be made aware of the reality that accompanies meth use, and the use of any other illegal drug for that matter.
